A total of 108 Statistics Corners across 34 provinces in Indonesia have undergone an evaluation regarding their implementation in higher education institutions, both public and private. The evaluation, held from October 29 to November 1, 2023, in Yogyakarta, was officially opened by the Deputy for Methodology and Statistical Information of BPS, Imam Machdi.

The University of Riau (UNRI) is one of the public universities that has collaborated with the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Riau Province to establish a Statistics Corner since 2022. Under the leadership of Anne Mudya Yolanda, S.Stat., M.Si., a lecturer from the Statistics Program of FMIPA UNRI, the Statistics Corner at UNRI has carried out various activities, including statistical consultations, statistical education, data processing training, and statistical study preparation.

Dr. Arisman Adnan, M.Sc., Coordinator of the Statistics Program at FMIPA UNRI, expressed his pride in this achievement. "As the first Statistics Corner in Riau, this is certainly a great pride, especially since UNRI's Statistics Corner has been awarded the second-best Statistics Corner among 108 in Indonesia," he said.

This award was presented at the 2023 Statistics Corner Award Ceremony held on Monday (4/12) at The Ritz Carlton, Jakarta, and was received directly by UNRI Rector, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si.

"With this award, it is hoped that UNRI's Statistics Corner will continue to develop in improving service quality and making a real contribution to the world of education," concluded Arisman Adnan.
