The vision of the Statistics Study Program at the University of Riau is "To become a leading institution in statistical research in the Sumatra region, capable of competing in education and learning, as well as in the development and application of statistics in Indonesia, and recognized in Southeast Asia.".
Misi
The mission of the Statistics Study Program to enhance the quality of education includes:
- Enhancing student competencies in statistics and contributing to national intellectual development.
- Implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education to advance statistical science and apply it in community service.
- Disseminating scientific knowledge based on research findings to produce graduates who are honest and independent.
- Establishing collaborations with various stakeholders for the advancement of statistics.
History
Bachelor's Degree Program in Statistics
The Bachelor of Statistics Study Program at FMIPA Universitas Riau was established on March 10, 2016, based on the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 118/KPT/I/2016. This program was founded to support the vision and mission of Universitas Riau and to prepare the next generation in facing job market challenges in various fields, especially in Riau Province. Graduates from this program can work in government institutions, financial services industries, strategic industries, software and computer industries, communication industries, survey institutions, research and development, and academia. The curriculum is designed based on KKNI for 8 semesters, including a final thesis. Graduates are expected to apply statistics, utilize science and technology, and make informed decisions based on data analysis.
